Geneva Long Course International: Ekaterina Avramova, Iris Rosenberger Post Meet Records

GENEVA, Switzerland, January 17. THE final day of the Geneva Long Course International meet held in Switzerland featured two more meet records.

Ekaterina Avramova kept her stellar meet going with a meet record time of 1:03.70 in the women's 100 back prelims. She then cut more than a second from that mark with a 1:02.51 to win the finale. Lauren Turner placed second in 1:05.58, while Giulia Negrini finished third in 1:06.34.

Iris Rosenberger clocked a 27.74 to clear the meet record in the women's 50 fly prelims before settling for second in the finale with a 28.44. Cristina Maccagnola snared the title in 28.22, while Karol Tartaglia rounded out the top three in 29.11.

Luisa Trombetti won the women's 200 IM in 2:21.63, while Sophie Wilson finished second in 2:22.62. Louise Jansen placed a close third in 2:22.78. Chris Jones claimed the men's 100 breast in 1:06.03, just beating Fabian Schwingenschloegl's second-place 1:06.50. Francesco Di Lecce wound up third in 1:07.05. Christian Vom Lehn, however, set the juniors championship meet record with a smoking fast 1:04.42.

Georgina Heyn captured the women's 100 breast in 1:13.40, while Francesca Marr finished second in 1:14.91. Adela Bolla placed third in 1:15.88. Marcus Bak took home the men's 100 back title in 59.96, while Constantin Tudose (1:00.45) and Federico Gilardi (1:00.55) rounded out the top three. In the juniors championship heat, Charlie Boldison set a meet record with a swift 57.93.

Schwingenschloegl turned silver into gold with a first-place tie in the men's 50 fly. He dead-heated with Nico Van Duijn with matching 25.93s in the finale. Charlie Boldison took third in 26.12. Alexandre Liess topped the men's 50 free in 24.01 with Eitan Holder (24.08) and Dan Cohen Solal (24.20) picking up second and third. Heyn doubled up with a 27.27 to win the women's 50 free, while Valentina Lobbia touched second in 27.33. Stephanie Denny picked up a close third in 27.34.
