LAUSANNE, Switzerland, September 9. FOLLOWING the conclusion of the entire analysis procedure, FINA is pleased to announce that 391 doping control tests were conducted in Rome (ITA) with the occasion of the 13th FINA World Championships and all were negative. This total includes 162 EPO screening tests.

By discipline, the number of tests was as follows:

• Swimming: 252 tests
• Open Water: 30 tests
• Diving: 33 tests
• Synchronized Swimming: 11 tests
• Water Polo: 65 tests

It might also be appropriate to note that FINA is considering, as a general policy, the long-term storage of samples to permit analyses in the future should there be indications to do so.
