USA Swimming Sectionals, Knoxville: Katura Harvey, Andy Brake Earn Second Titles

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, July 17. A pair of swimmers picked up their second titles of the meet during the second night of long course meter swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Knoxville, Tenn.

North Carolina's Katura Harvey added her second title of the meet with a 2:02.64 to claim the women's 200 free. Duke's Dania Marinshaw finished second in 2:04.13, while Georgia Coastal's Nicole Menzel took third in 2:05.41. The event featured the exact same top three as the women's 800 free last night. Virginia's Peter Geissinger snared the men's 200 free crown in 1:51.69. North Carolina's Hank Browning finished second in 1:52.90 with Tennessee's Anders Storvik taking third in 1:53.23.

Madison's Jenny von Jouanne touched out North Carolina's Carly Smith, 1:03.85 to 1:03.92, for the women's 100 back triumph. North Carolina's Megan Steeves placed third in 1:04.27. Virginia's Daniel Johnson topped the men's 100 back in 57.08. Storvik wound up second in 57.75, while Carolina's Dominik Lendjel took third in 58.12.

Marlins of Raleigh's Kirsten Smith cruised in the women's 400 IM with a winning time of 4:50.83. Lakeside's Meredith King finished a distant second in 4:59.67. Virginia's Joanna Thomas captured third in 4:59.78. Andy Brake won the men's 400 IM in 4:28.37, swimming unattached, for his second triumph of the meet. Marlins of Raleigh's Taylor Harris placed second in 4:31.80, while Cardinal's Luke Wakefield took third in 4:36.82.
