Dutch Sprint Championships: Short Course Swimming on Display

ALKMAAR, The Netherlands, June 27. WHILE most of the world is battling it out in the long course pool, the Dutch Sprint Championships are offering some short course meters action this weekend.

Ilse Kraaijeveld topped the women's 50 free event with a time of 24.85, while Eline Boers (25.55) and Clarissa van Rheenan (26.05) took second and third. Rudy Ted de Haan followed in the men's 100 IM with a winning time of 55.32. Robert Yallop (56.59), Devi Wolthuizen (56.67) and Joran Barends (56.67) clocked the second and third-fastest times of the race.

Willemijn Knot touched out Wendy van den Zanden, 28.30 to 28.57, in the women's 50 back with Anja van der Hout placing third in 29.04, while Bastiaan Tamminga crushed the field in the men's 50 fly with a 23.29. Robin van Aggele (23.70) and Ewoud Tamminga (24.02) completed the top three.

Tessa Brouwer walked away with the women's 50 breaststroke title in 31.54. Boers (31.66) and Lona Kroese (31.98) also cleared 32 seconds for second and third.
