Rosario de Vivanco Clears Four FINA Masters World Records

LIMA, Peru, June 26. THIS weekend, Rosario "Choco" de Vivanco put together a pair of incredibly strong meets at the Peru National Long Course Masters Championships and the 1st Pacific Masters Short Course Cup. She completed the week with four FINA Masters World Records in the women's 60-64 age division.

In Peru, de Vivanco completed the 800 free in 11:16.86, shattering Betty Barnett's previous standard of 11:24.14 set in 2008. de Vivanco followed with a 2:31.50 in the 200 free to clip Barnett's 2006 standard of 2:31.98.

A few days later at the Pacific Masters Short Course Cup held in Guayaquil, Ecuador, de Vivanco stopped the clock in 1:07.22 in the 100 free to clear compatriot Aida Davis' 2008 mark of 1:09.95. de Vivanco then posted a 2:34.68 in the 200 free to obliterate Jen Thomasson's 2003 record of 2:38.28.
