Industry News: Universal Sports to Broadcast FINA Diving World Series From Mexico

LOS ANGELES, California, April 23. TOP athletes from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games dive back into the pool for the 2009 FINA Diving World Series as Universal Sports, in partnership with International Swimming Federation (FINA), provides LIVE coverage of the Diving World Series, beginning Friday from Mexico City, Mexico.

The 2009 FINA Diving World Series unites the best divers from around the world, as they compete across three continents for $480,000 in prize money. The series will feature the top eight male and female divers from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and World Cup events, competing in the 3m springboard, 3m synchronized springboard, 10m platform and 10m synchronized platform events.

ATHLETES SET TO COMPETE: Diving champions from the United States, China, Canada, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico and Germany will compete in the series. Set to appear this weekend in Sheffield from the United States are Thomas Finchum, Chris Colwill, Jevon Tarantino, Troy Dumais, David Boudia, Kelci Bryant, and Ariel Rittenhouse, Mary Beth Dunnichay. Some top competitors from around the world attending are Matthew Mitcham (AUS) the 2008 Olympic champion in the 10m platform and partner Lin Yue; and Chen Ruolin who won gold in the women's 10m platform and 10m synchronized platform events at the 2008 Summer Olympics for Team China.
