Montana State Swimming Championships

GREAT FALLS, Montana, February 24. THE CM Russell girls took first place at the MHSA Swimming Championship Meet with a score of 285 points. Missoula Sentinel and Billings West followed with scores of 244 and 104 respectively. On the boys' side, it was a close meet between Bozeman and CM Russell. Bozeman won with 171 points, followed by CM Russell (169) and Missoula Big Sky (153).

Girls Results
CM Russell's Abbey Allen, Emily Brennan, Gabby Malisani, and Dakota Bloch finished first in the 200 medley relay (1:52.19). Brennan also won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.26.

Bloch had individual wins in the 200 (1:54.12) and 500 (5:05.46) freestyles.

Jordan Denny (West) won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke with times of 2:10.11 and 58.44 respectively.

Allen, Madisen Sechena, Brennan, and Bloch clocked a 1:43.52 in the 200 freestyle relay for a first-place finish.

Sentinel's Brittany Szekely won the 50 (24.20) and 100 (53.12) freestyles.

Kasey Robinson, Kelsey Hutton, Miranda Tornatore, and Szekely won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:39.18.

Boys Results
Derek Lair, Early Lara, Jake Wilkinson, and Taylor Schumacher won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.74. Lair also won the 200 IM (1:53.76) and the 100 freestyle (46.44).

Hellgate's Sean Niccolucci won the 200 (1:46.68) and 500 (4:50.62) freestyles.

Andrew Bovard (Big Sky) touched out Phil Rempe (Glacier) by .01 seconds in the 50 freestyle for a first-place finishing time of 22.17. Bovard also won the 100 butterfly (52.21).

The team of Peter Szekely, Corban Elliott, Kyle Jones, and Bovard clocked a 1:31.69 for a win in the 200 freestyle relay.

AJ Griffith teamed up with Schumacher, Wilkinson, and Lair to close the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:20.38).
