Colorado State Girls 4A, 5A High School Swimming and Diving Championships

LITTLETON, Colorado, February 24. ROCK Canyon won the Girls Colorado State 4A High School Swimming and Diving Championships with a score of 417 points, followed by Thompson Valley (238) and Lewis Palmer (181). At the 5A meet, Cherry Creek took first (369), while Fairview (331) placed second and Regis Jesuit finished third (235).

4A Results
Senior Justine Boddy (Thompson Valley) won the diving competition with a score of 431.75 points. Lewis Palmer's Corinne Bangs took second (425.65) and Cheyenne Mt.'s Emily Kasyon placed third (412.30).

Kirsten Milberg of Rock Canyon had individual wins in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. She finished with times of 2:06.03 and 56.89 respectively.

Montrose's Emily Stucky won the 50 (52.05) and 100 (24.03) freestyles.
Rock Canyon won the 200 medley (1:48.55), 200 freestyle (1:39.51), and 400 freestyle (3:33.98) relays.

5A Results
Cherry Creek set state records in the 200 medley (1:43.75) and 400 freestyle (3:27.08) relays.

Sophomore Caroline Piehl (Smoky Hill) and freshman Lauren Stoeckle (Regis Jesuit) set state records in the 200 IM (2:02.96) and the 100 breaststroke (1:04.27) respectively.

Bonnie Brandon (Cherry Creek) set a meet record in the 50 freestyle (23.47). Her 100 backstroke time of 54.77 surpassed the overall state standard.

Brandon's teammate, Loren Brandon, had individual wins in the 200 (1:51.23) and 500 (4:53.74) freestyles.

Fairview won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.59.
Only 6.20 points separated the first and third-place finishers in the diving competition. Ralston Valley's Raleigh Williams took first with a score of 436.30. Mady Ingmire (Thunder Ridge) and Beth Ambrozic (Arapahoe) placed second (430.15) and third (430.10) respectively.
