Louisiana Division III High School State Championships

SULPHUR, Louisiana, December 1. AT the Louisiana Division III High School State Championships, the St. Louis girls and Lutcher boys took first place with scores of 397 and 428 respectively. On the girls' side, Parkview and Lutcher took second (315) and third (236.50). Parkview placed second with 282 points, followed by St. Charles Catholic with 270.50.

Girls Individual Results
The St. Louis Saints won two of the three relays. Anne Babineaux, Jordan Churchman, Sarah Lorio and Kristen Hinton won the 200 medley relay (1:59.41).

Freshman Katie Stahel (Ursuline Academy) took control of the distance races. She won the 200 (2:02.27) and 500 (5:27.25) freestyles.

Opposite to Stahel, Michelle Gaubert (E.D. White Catholic) had first-place finishes in the sprint events. She touched out her competitors in the 50 freestyle (25.04) and the 100 freestyle (54.92).

Parkview's Laura Soileau won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. She finished with a 2:13.86 and 1:07.88 respectively.

Babineaux, Lorio, Rachel Livingston and Kristen Hinton placed first in the 400 freestyle (3:54.60).

Boys Individual Results
Danion Miles, Martin Baker, John Michael Moore and Clint Dodge of Parkview opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:48.85).

Moore won the 200 IM by 16.52 seconds for a time of 1:59.87. He also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.54.

Sophomore Jarod Brown (Redemptorist) had dual individual wins. He edged out his competitor by .13 seconds in the 200 freestyle for a time of 1:49.75. Despite a close race in the 200, he safely won the 500 freestyle by 47.47 seconds (5:06.78).

Kolby Louque (Lutcher) won the 50 freestyle with a time of23.06.

His teammates Corey Poche, Mason Duhe, Blake Roussel and Hunter Louque combined for a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:36.57). H. Louque also won the 100 freestyle (50.17).

K. Louque, Blake Roussel, Dustin Roper and H. Louque finished the 400 freestyle relay with a first-place finishing time of 3:34.55.
