BYU, Northern Arizona vs. New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, November 1. The University of New Mexico women's swimming and diving team fell to BYU 211.50-88.50, and NAU 177-123, today at the West Mesa Aquatic Center. In the Lobos only home meet of the fall freshman Marissa Campbell stepped up and captured the single first-place finish for the team.

Campbell's top finish was in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.86.

The Lobos finished the meet with five second-place finishes. Campbell placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.80). Maria Dudley also captured a second-place finish, with a time of 10:43.10 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Jocelyn Colella finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.79. Jennifer Patterson also placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.70). The final second-place finish for the Lobos came from Ashley Grisdale in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:38.19.

Dudley finished third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.97). Patterson finished third in the 100-yard butterfly (57.63). The Lobos 200-yard medley relay team finished third also with a time of 1:50.00 (Colella, Theresa Rogers, Ashley Grisdale, Tesse Maciejko).

UNM is now 1-4 on the season and 1-3 in conference competition.

The Lobos will travel to Greeley, Colo. to take on Northern Colorado Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. UNM's next conference meet will be on Nov. 7 against Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo. at 5p.m.
