Five-Star Christine Olson Chooses College

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 22. SWIMMING World five-star prospect Christine Olson, who swims for Brophy East located in Phoenix, has made her college decision and will be heading East.

Mark Bernardino took another positive call when Olson selected Virginia as her destination of choice.

"I chose Virginia because it has a charm about it," Olson told Swimming World. "I feel that I will excel as a person, student and swimmer. I loved the swimmers, coaches, and town! It is much greener than Arizona."

Olson owns U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in the 100-meter breast (1:10.52), 200-meter breast (2:28.84) and 200-meter IM (2:19.05). She also has already posted a time that would clear the NCAA Division I B cut in the 200-yard breast (2:14.18).

Olson joins five-star Lauren Perdue and three-star Meredith Cavalier in a growing class of women to commit to Virginia in the Class of 2009.
