Black Knight Invitational

WEST POINT, New York. October 17. THE Marist Red Foxes men's swimming and diving team began the defense of their most recent Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) title, as the team competed at the Black Knight Invitational hosted by Army. The Syracuse Orange are also participating in the event.

In the men's 1,000-yd. freestyle Marist senior Spencer Hartmann won the event. He bested the next best finisher, Jeff Tolbert of Army by more than eight seconds. Hartmann's time was 9:43.08.

The Red Foxes also took second place in the 200-yd. freestyle relay. The team of sophomores Joshua Sklanka, Keith Miller, Steven Vendetta, and Angelo Ciarolo finished the event with a time of 1:27.94, just .14 seconds behind the first place squad from Army.

The Marist divers took the top two places off the one meter board. Sophomore Brian Bolstad won the event with a score of 258.35, while junior Mitchell Katz took second with a score of 253.2.
