Valerio Cleri, Larisa Ilchenko, Kristel Kobrich Win Gold in Last Two Stops of FINA Marathon World Cup

HONG KONG, September 29. OVER the past two stops of the FINA Marathon World Cup events held in Shantou, China on Sept. 21 and Hong Kong on Sept. 28, Valerio Cleri earned both victories while Larisa Ilchenko and Kristel Kobrich also claimed titles.

In China, Cleri touched first in 2:06:58 with Mazen Mohamed Aziz taking second in 2:07.03. Allan Carmo placed right behind in 2:07.05.

Kobrich, meanwhile, won the women's race in 2:10.49. Larisa Ilchenko took a rare second-place in 2:10.53, while Angela Maurer took third in 2:10.55.

Cleri then won in Hong Kong with a time of 1:46.17. Daniil Serebrennikov finished right behind in 1:46.18. Carmo rounded out the top three in 1:46.22.

Ilchenko turned the tables in the women's race with a 1:52.15 to 1:52.18 win over Kobrich in Hong Kong. Ana Marcela Cunha placed third in 1:52.24.

Two more races are left in the circuit with swims in Singapore on Oct. 4 and Cancun on Oct. 11.
