Jose Finkel Trophy: Final Day Provides Five Meet Records

SAO PAULO, Brazil, September 7. THE final day of swimming at the Jose Finkel Trophy meet held in Sao Paulo, Brazil featured five separate meet records.

Tatiana Barbosa topped the women's 100 free in 55.48 for the standard, while Fabiola Molina had another strong performance with a 1:01.79 in the women's 100 back. The latter swim came after Molina earlier set the 50 back South American record earlier in the meet.

Guilherme Guido won the men's 100 back with a meet-record time of 54.99, while Henrique Barbosa earned the men's 100 breast title in 1:01.56 for a standard of his own.

Thiago Pereira completed the meet-record quintet with a 1:58.78 in the men's 200 IM.

Other winners included Nicolas Oliveira (men's 100 free – 49.66), Carolina Mussi (women's 100 breast – 1:12.94) and Joanna Maranhao (women's 200 IM – 2:18.84).
