Open Water Swimmer Petar Stoychev Named Bulgaria’s Flagbearer

BEIJING, China, August 5. ACCORDING to a report by Sofia News, open water swimmer Petar Stoychev has been named the man to hold Bulgaria's flag during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games.

The article reported that "the Bulgarian Olympic Committee chose Stoychev over Plamen Konstantinov, captain of Bulgaria's national volleyball team, and gymnast Yordan Yovchev."

"It is a great honor for me and I hope I will perform well at the games so that people can be proud of me," Stoychev told Sofia News.
