Croatian Open Championships: Croatian Women’s 400 Free Relay Record Falls

DUBROVNIK, Croatia, July 12. THE quartet of Kim Daniela Pavlin, Adrijana Bencic, Anja Trisic and Doroteja Bednjanec brought down the Croatian record in the women's 400 free relay at the Croatian Open Championships held in Dubrovnik.

The contingent clocked a time of 3:55.26 to edge the previous standard of 3:55.48 set in 2005.

Sara Isakovic of Slovenia dominated the women's 200 fly with a time of 2:08.22, while Yasmin Rosenberger took second in 2:17.50. Vladan Markovic followed in the men's 200 fly with a time of 2:03.60.

Isakovic also went on to win the women's 100 free in a time of 55.38 with Tatiana Lemos of Brazil taking second in 56.00. Serbia's Milorad Cavic then beat Trinidad and Tobago's George Bovell, 49.14 to 50.16, in the men's 100 free.

The women's 100 breast featured Smiljana Marinovic winning in 1:11.40, while Brazil's Henrique Barbosa won the men's 100 breast in 1:01.37.

Luka Turk of Slovenia surfaced from the men's 1500 free with a win in 16:01.92, easily crushing second-place finisher Josip Soldo (16:44.88).

In the IMs, Anja Kilnar of Slovenia emerged with the women's 400-meter title in 4:45.97, while Brazil's Diogo Yabe took the men's crown in 4:24.70.

Mario Todorovic, Mario Delac, Vedran Bicanic and Ante Krizan closed the session with a time of 3:23.46 in the men's 400 free relay.
