Golden Bear: Agata Korc Sets Polish Record

ZAGREB, Croatia, June 22. POLAND's Agata Korc set her country's record in the women's 50 fly with a time of 26.55 at the Golden Bear meet held in Zagreb, Croatia. She broke Aleksandra Urbanczyk's record of 26.83 set two years ago. Eszter Dara finished second in 27.33, while Monika Babok placed third in 27.71.

Janne Schaefer began the second day of the meet with a meet-record time of 31.06 in the women's 50 breast. She finished just off her German record of 30.89 from 2006. Maja Pavlovic placed second in 34.08, while Gabrijela Korac took third in 34.77.

Mohammad Rezaei of Iran won the men's 50 breast in 28.31, while Vanja Rogulj touched just behind with a second-place 28.35. Daren Mew of Great Britain earned third in 28.43.

In the men's 50 fly, Mario Todorovic just missed countryman Duje Draganja's Croatian record of 23.62 from 2006 when he clocked a 23.77 to win the event. Mark Foster, fresh off setting the British record in the 50 free last night, took second in 23.82, while Draganja placed third in 24.33. Notably, Laszlo Cseh wound up fourth in 24.35.

Caroline Saxby walked away with the women's 400 free record with a time of 4:25.42, while Anja Trisic finished second in 4:27.82. Karla Sitic rounded out the top three in 4:29.79.

The men's 400 free went to Andrew Hunter with a time of 3:54.54. Norbert Kovacs touched second in 3:55.02, while Nikolaos Xylouris took third in 3:56.19.

Sanja Jovanovic cruised in the women's 100 back with a time of 1:01.09, while Nikolett Szepesi (1:02.23) and Katy Sexton (1:02.50) comprised the rest of the top three.

In the men's 100 back, Gordan Kozulj topped all comers with a time of 55.69, while Marko Strahija finished second in 56.02. Israel's Guy Barnea wound up third in 56.56.

Smiljana Marinovic dominated the women's 200 breast with a time of 2:32.14, while Korac touched second in 2:44.47 and Ana Matkovic garnered third in 2:47.11.

Henrique Barbosa stopped the clock just a second off his Brazilian record of 2:12.56 from earlier this month with a winning time of 2:13.65. Kamil Kasprowicz took second in 2:15.67, while Rogulj snagged third in 2:18.63.

Szimonetta Galamb claimed the women's 200 fly title in 2:18.52, while Sitic placed second in 2:23.76 and Marijela Brajevic made up the rest of the top three in 2:31.45.

Meanwhile, Niksa Roki snared the men's 200 fly crown in 2:01.56. Petar Mrcela touched second in 2:03.17, while Stuart Houston grabbed third in 2:05.33.

Dara followed with a winning time of 57.09 in the women's 100 free, while Clare Dawson (58.04) and Trisic (58.55) placed second and third, respectively.

Salim Iles completed the meet by touching out Todorovic, 49.86 to 49.88, in the men's 100 free, while Cseh placed third in 50.44.
