LOS ANGELES, California, June 9. ANDI Murez from Venice overpowered all who faced her at the CIF Los Angeles Section Championships.

Murez romped the field in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock at 1:50.72. She resumed her domination in the 100 backstroke, as Murez was the only female to break the one-minute barrier with a time of 57.48.

Taft's Chelsea Lim was crowned the champion in two events as well. Lim took the 50 freestyle in 24.82 before earning her second individual gold medal of the meet with a 53.97 100 freestyle.

Megan Lee from Marshall finished out her freshman season with two gold medals, joining the likes of Lim and Murez. Lee covered the 20-lap 500 freestyle in 5:13.98 and also put up the gold standard in the 200 IM (2:12.28) as well.

Kristina Fivecoat of Granada Hills chalked up first-place points in the diving competition with a winning score of 357.10. Allison Gillis from Birmingham and Sarah Hightower from the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies placed second and third, respectively, with scores of 308.20 and 296.90.

Men's Results
Edward Kwak representing Taft took both sprint freestyle events on the men's side. Kwak took the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.19, and he also picked up the top spot in the 100 freestyle (49.14) as well.

Ashkaun Hami of Cleveland nabbed two wins as well, placing first in the 100 butterfly (51.78) and the 100 backstroke (55.42).

Phillip Chu from the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies double dipped with wins, taking the 100 breaststroke (1:00.62) and the 200 IM (2:05.47).

It was a senior affair in the diving competition, as the top three finishers competed in their final year of the CIF Los Angeles Section Championships. Patrick Cohen from Birmingham garnered the first-place laurels with a score of 471.10. Alex Dashiell from Cleveland took second with a 389.75 score while Jose Bahena of Banning placed third (318.40).
