Austria Meeting: Mirna Jukic, Sara Isakovic Set Respective Austrian, Slovenian Records on Final Day

VIENNA, Austria, April 27. THE last session of competition at the Austrian Meeting held in Vienna featured a pair of national records taking a tumble.

Austria's Mirna Jukic paced the final day of swimming with a meet-record double, which included a national standard as well. In the women's 200 IM, Jukic stopped the clock in 2:15.35 to erase her 2:15.95 national record set in 2007. Earlier in the day, she touched in 31.79 in the women's 50 breast, just missing her national record of 31.59 from a month ago.

Emil Tahirovic of Slovenia (50 breast – 28.33) and Peter Nagy of Hungary (200 IM – 2:06.80) were Jukic's male counterparts with victories in the men's events.

Sara Isakovic of Slovenia also notched her second national record of the meet in the women's 400 free. She crushed her previous record of 4:12.25 set back in 2005 with a swift time of 4:08.10 to win the title.

Isakovic's compatriot, Luka Turk, wound up winning the men's 400 free in 3:53.11.

In other action, Flori Lang of Switzerland won the men's 50 free in 22.80, while Austria's Fabienne Nadarajah took home the women's splash-and-dash in 26.43.

Stefanie Sturzl of Austria completed the meet with a victory in the women's 1500 free when she touched in 17:36.20.
