NCAA Women’s Division III Championship Blog, Day 5: Emory’s Katie Mroz

OXFORD, Ohio, March 16. IN addition to Shane Pelton's athlete blog on the Division II Championships, another swimmer will kept tabs on the Women's Division III Championships through an athlete blog for Swimming World. Katie Mroz from Emory University is checking in with her final post.

Mroz is a freshman swimmer at Emory University. Mroz, who hails from Libertyville, Ill., enters her first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championship meet after placing first as a member of the Emory 800 freestyle relay at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. In addition, Mroz will compete in the 500 freestyle, the 200 freestyle and the 200 breaststroke at this year's NCAA Championships.

Congratulations to NCAA Division III National Champions, Kenyon College! Way to go, Ladies! As a team, they had a phenomenal meet and deserved to defend their title. After jumping in the pool, they did their "We are the Ladies" cheer. Not going to lie, chills went down my spine. It was one of those moments you think only takes place in movies.

Great job to all the swimmers and divers at the meet! You all did a stellar job! Everyone should be proud of themselves. You really showed the swimming world what you are made of.

On behalf of all of the participants, I want to thank the parents and coaches of the teams. None of us would be where we are with our swimming or lives without your support and teaching. We all really appreciate all that you do for us!

I also want to thank Swimming World Magazine for giving me this wonderful opportunity to write a short blog about the meet. I had so much fun! This is something I will always remember when I look back at my college swimming career.

I already can't wait until next year's nationals. I hope to see you then!

Swimming World would also like to extend a special thanks to Katie for taking time out of her busy schedule as a competitor at the NCAA Division III Women's Championships to give our readers an inside look into the meet. We wish her nothing but the best of luck in the future. Thank you, Katie!
