Wyoming Men’s Class 3A High School State Championships

GILLETTE, Wyoming, March 5. LANDER ran away with the Wyoming Men's Class 3A High School state title, amassing 318 points.

Sublette, whose head coach took home the Coach of the Year honor, finished up in second with 166 points. Kemmerer took third by one point (144) over Buffalo.

Sublette battled its way to two relay golds. The 200 medley relay team of Drew Pflughoft, Kit Pflughoft, Jonathan Hamilton and John Fenn combined stroke competencies, clocking a 1:45.76. The same four men in the order of Hamilton, Fenn, Kit Pflughoft and Drew Pflughoft won the 400 freestyle relay event by more than a second, recording a time of 3:27.28.

Terry Rolfe from Newcastle earned the Swimmer of the Meet laurels and finished up with two gold medals. Rolfe notched a win in the 200 IM with a 2:00.74 time and picked up his second gold medal of the meet with a 53.01 performance in the 100 backstroke.

Riley Johnson of Kemmerer snatched up two individual event wins, taking first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.91) and the 100 freestyle (48.99).

Douglas' Ekkaphap Boonnoon finished up his senior campaign with a perfect two-for-two outing in each of his individual events. Boonnoon took the 100 butterfly title (53.17) before touching first in the 100 breaststroke in the meet's last individual event (1:02.17).

Garret Hamilton from Lander finished first in the diving competition with a 422.35 score. Ryan Palmer of Rawlins picked up second-place points with a 380.90 score while Ryan Iannelli of Buffalo placed third (319.80).
