Good Luck Beijing FINA Diving World Cup: China Steamrolls Competition

BEIJING, China, February 23. FOR fifth consecutive day of competition at the Good Luck Beijing FINA Diving World Cup, China stole the show at the National Aquatics Center (Water Cube).

In women's three-meter diving, Wu Min Xia and Guo Jing Jing were both much better than the competition. Wu laid claim to the gold medal with 391.35 points, while Guo snagged silver with 387.75 points.

The battle for bronze came down to the final dive as Australia's Sharleen Stratton and the United States' Christina Loukas went toe-to-toe throughout the session. Stratton executed her final dive much better than Loukas to win bronze, 350.70 to 350.35.

In men's tower preliminary diving, China's Zhou Lu Xin (515.35) and Lin Yue (501.85) swept the top two qualifying spots, while Australia's Matt Mitcham placed third with 499.95 points.

Representing the U.S., David Boudia placed 10th with 457.80 points, while Thomas Finchum took 13th with 443.85 points.
