Petar Stoychev, Natalya Pankina Win Again in FINA Open Water Grand Prix

VIEDMA, Argentina, February 19. FOR the third straight competition, Bulgarian Petar Stoychev and Russian Natalya Pankina walked away with titles in the FINA Open Water Grand Prix.

Stoychev completed the 15K course in 2:42:19.74, while Italians Andrea Volpini (2:42:28.27) and Rodolfo Valenti (2:42:28.59) hit the wall in second and third place among the men.

Pankina, meanwhile, walked away with the women's title in 2:44:22.71, while Germany's Annegret Braun placed second in 2:46:35.49. Argentina's Marianela Mendoza garnered third in 3:00:36.10.

After three races, Stoychev leads the men's standings with 45 points, while Argentina's Damian Blaum and France's Stephane Gomez are tied for second with 25 points.

For the women, Pankina has 45 points as well, while Spain's Esther Nunez is second with 18 points and a pair of Italians (Alessandra Romiti and Laura La Piana) are tied for third with 14 points.
