Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships: Day Three

BUFFALO, New York, February 19. THE Loyola University Maryland men's and the Marist College women's swimming and diving teams claimed the league titles at the 2011 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Flickinger Athletic Center at Erie Community College.
The Loyola men won this year's MAAC crown with a total of 796 points, while Rider University registered 593.5 points for second place. Marist College came in third with 563 points, followed by Iona College (423.5), Canisius College (411.5), Saint Peter's College (355), Niagara University (284), Fairfield University (193.5) and Manhattan College (129).

On the women's side, Marist earned the conference crown as the Red Foxes tallied 843 points, while Rider finished in second place (566). Loyola came in third with 499.5 points, followed by Siena College (462), Iona (384), Fairfield (321), Niagara (258.5), Canisius (256), Saint Peter's (143) and Manhattan (87).

Kate Conard of Marist was named the MAAC Women's Most Outstanding Swimmer, while Brennan Morris of Loyola was named the MAAC Men's Most Outstanding Swimmer. The MAAC Men's Most Outstanding Diver was Ian O'Rourke from Niagara, and the MAAC Women's Most Outstanding Diver was Aisley Carter of Rider. Brian Loeffler of Loyola was named the Men's Swimming Coach of the Year, while Marist's Larry Van Wagner was chosen as the Women's Swimming Coach of the Year. Kristen Ceppa from Rider was named Diving Coach of the Year.
