2009 European Short Course Championships Awarded to Istanbul

DEBRECEN, Hungary, December 16. WITH fast swimming still taking place in the pool at the 2007 European Short Course Championships, the European Swimming Federation (LEN) made the call to tap Istanbul and the Turkish Swimming Federation to host the 2009 event. Istanbul had previously hosted the 1999 affair.

Meanwhile, the 2010 European Junior Championships were given to Helsinki and the Finnish Swimming Federation.
