FINA Announces Six Bid Cities for 2012 World Short Course Championships

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, November 30. FINA held the first meeting with bid cities for the 2012 World Short Course Championships today.

Hong Kong; Istanbul, Turkey; Mar del Plata, Argentina; Sydney, Australia and Vienna, Austria each took part in the meeting, while Rio de Janeiro, Brazil representatives were unable to make the meeting, but will still remain a bidder for the event.

Candidate cities now have until Jan. 28, 2008 to submit formal bids to FINA. FINA will then select a host at the 2008 meeting on April 12, held in conjunction with the World Short Course Championships held in Manchester.
