Swedish Medley Relay Record Falls at Short Course Champs

JONKOPING, Sweden, November 24. DURING the second-to-last day at the Swedish Short Course Championships in Jonkoping, the men's 400 medley relay record fell by the wayside.

The SK Neptun team of Simon Sjodin (54.61), Christer Tour (1:00.74), Stefan Nystrand (51.91) and Petter Stymne (47.49) clocked a time of 3:34.75 in the 400 medley relay to chop more than two seconds from the previous standard of 3:37.06 set in 2006.

In individual action for the men, Axel Pettersson (200 breast – 2:12.89), Per Nylin (100 IM – 55.11), Johan Claar (400 free – 3:50.06) and Stymne (50 free – 21.68) walked away with titles.

Other relay wins came from Alexandra Johansson, Hanna Westrin, Anna-Karin Kammerling and Josefina Lockner in the women's 200 medley (1:52.45) and Nelly Nilsson, Gabriella Fagundez, Ida Marko-Varga and Therese Svendsen in the women's 800 freestyle (8:02.93).

Individually, Svendsen (200 back – 2:11.36), Malin Svahnstrom (100 IM – 1:01.87) and Kammerling (50 fly – 26.02) each picked up crowns.
