Cal State Bakersfield Adds Volunteer Assistant Coach

BAKERSFIELD, California, October 31. MORGAN Bailey, the head coach of Cal State Bakersfield men's swimming and diving, announced the addition of Keith Moore as a Volunteer Assistant Coach.

Moore will work mainly with the sprinters. Moore is currently the head coach and general manager of the Bakersfield Swim Club, where he recently coached Gabe Woodward to a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle in last summer's Pan American Games in Rio.

Under Moore's direction during last summer's National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., Joe Whittington, representing Bakersfield Swim Club, swam to an eighth-place finish in the 50-meter free with a time of 22.74.

Prior to his arrival in Bakersfield, Moore spent 14 years at the University of Nebraska as an assistant coach, producing a strong group of sprinters including Therese Alshammar, Adam Pine, Helene Muller and Anthony Rogis.

"We are very pleased to add Keith to the Roadrunner men's swimming and diving staff," said Bailey. "His high level of experience and enthusiasm for improvement will add another layer of structure and support for our student athletes."

CSUB is now entering its second year of NCAA Division I competition and will be participating in the Conference USA Championship at the end of this season.
