Washington State Completes Annual Snake River Challenge

PULLMAN, Washington, September 12. THE Washington State women's swim team completed the Snake River Challenge on Labor Day. The event is an annual competition that includes a 2.2-mile swim in the Snake River followed by a 2.2-mile run.

Senior McKenzie Reiter won the entire event with a time of 60:51. Senior Lina Daugvilaite posted the second-fastest overall time in 60:59 and junior Kristin Marceau took third with an overall time of 63:21.

Freshman Sierra Burton made her mark by finishing up the swim portion of the endurance event in 44.25. Daugvilaite was second in the swim with a time of 44:40 and junior Elyse Peterson was third out of the water in 45:00.

Reiter also was the fastest in the run, ticking of the 2.2 miles in 15:46. Daugvilaite captured another second place by coming in behind Reiter with a run of 16:19. Marceau was third in the run with a time of 17:31.
