Angolan Swimmer Tests Positive for Doping Violation

LUANDA, Angola, August 27. HIS name may not register with even the intense fan, but Angola's Nuno Rola has been suspended by the Angolan Swimming Federation for a doping offense. Rola's violation was detected last month at the All Africa Games in Algeria. Rola advanced to the semifinal round of the 200 butterfly at the competition.

Rola's suspension will cover two years and his performances from the All Africa Games will be voided. He claims his positive test was the result of consuming an energy drink that did not indicate on its label that it included the banned substance, androsterone.
