Australian Masters Set More National Records

By Graham Senders, Australian Masters Correspondent

PERTH, Western Australia, August 21. THE final meet of three consecutive weekend State distance swims saw two Australian records broken on Sunday at the Somerset Street Aqualife pool, in Perth's eastern suburbs.

Bold Park AUSSI Masters' Victor Paul broke the Australian 60-65 long course meter 1500 freestyle record by 35.40 seconds in a time of 20:08.24. He broke the record set by Barry Seymour in Cessnock, NSW in February 2007.

Joyce O'Farrell of the host club Somerset AUSSI Masters took 5.16 seconds off her Australian 85-89 long course meter 800 freestyle record in a split time of 21:31.31 but ultimately swam slower than the 1500 record she set last year. She holds all national records in her age group from 100 meters up.
