Kim Jasmer Shoots Down 200 Free Meet Record at Mt. Hood Sectionals

MT. HOOD, Oregon, July 13. KIM Jasmer, swimming for KING Aquatics at the Mt. Hood Sectional posted the only individual meet record of the third day of long course meter swimming.

Jasmer covered the 200 freestyle in 2:02.00 to surpass the 2:02.49 set by Amanda Beard on March 1, 2004. Jasmer took the win ahead of teammate Ariana Kukors, who placed second in 2:02.87.

In the other individual women's race, Corvallis Aquatics' Saori Haruguchi claimed a two-second win in the 400 IM with a time of 4:53.46. She touched ahead of second-place finisher, Andie Taylor of KING Aquatics, who placed second in 4:55.58.

In relays, KING Aquatics' team of Megan Jendrick, Kukors, Emilee Jennings and Jasmer picked up a meet record in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:49.09. The effort erased the 3:50.89 set by Tualatin Hills on July 1, 2000.

In the men's races, Masafumi Tojo of Brophy East easily won the 200 free in 1:52.16 with Logan Storie of Corvallis Aquatics taking second in 1:53.45.

Storie, however, countered in the 400 IM by touching out DU Hilltopper Chris Good, 4:34.33 to 4:344.58, for the title.

KING Aquatics' relay of David Bai, Brenton Dowdy, Jonathan Hiett and Scott Rice won the men's 400 freestyle in 3:32.30.
