United States, Russia Complete Final Day of AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix With Gold

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, May 13. IN the final day of competition at the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix, held in conjunction with the International Swimming Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, the United States and Russia came up gold.

In the men's platform finale, Thomas Finchum of the United States claimed gold with 497.40 points, while China's Yang Liguang took home silver with 489.00 points. Zhou Luxin of China completed the podium with 446.50 points.

In the women's three-meter event, Russia's Yulia Pakhalina topped all-comers with 387.95 points, while China's Guo Jingjing (360.70) and He Zi (330.65) garnered silver and bronze, respectively.

In the final competition of the meet, the United States' duo of David Boudia and Finchum posted 434.64 points for gold in the synchronized men's platform event, while compatriots Nick McCrory and Matt Bricker finished second with an exhibition score of 419.52. The United States could not earn silver due to a FINA rule only permitting one medal per country.

As for the rest of the podium, Germany's Patrick Hausding and Christian Picker captured silver with 388.71 points, while Russia's Semen Kokunov and Victor Minibaev grabbed bronze with 382.44 points.
