Russian Duo Claims Women’s Three-Meter Synchro Diving Title at AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, May 11. IN the second day of competition at the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix, held in conjunction with the International Swimming Hall of Fame's Induction Weekend, the Russian duo of Anastassia Posdniakova and Yulia Pakhalina topped the women's three-meter synchronized diving event.

The Russians tallied 327.81 points for gold, while the Chinese tandem of He Zi and Li Ting, not often defeated in international battle, settled for silver with 312.30 points. Australia's team of Sharleen Stratton and Briony Cole placed third with 299.04 points.

In the women's three-meter individual event, He (351.90), Canada's Emilie Heymans (315.80) and Italy's Tania Cagnotto (311.70) advanced out of semifinal A, while China's Guo Jingjing (363.70), United States' Nancilea Foster (321.75) and Pakhalina (308.05) made it from semifinal B.

In the men's platform semifinals, Mexico's Rommel Pacheco (472.10), Great Britain's Peter Waterfield (466.90) and China's Yang Liguang (450.70) transferred from group A, while China's Zhou Luxin (500.15), United States' Thomas Finchum (459.60) and Brazil's Cassius Duran (443.40) came out of group B.
