USA Swimming Spring Championships Conclude With Fifth Day of Action

EAST MEADOW, New York, March 31. WITH the fifth-and-final day of action complete, the USA Swimming Spring Championships have come to a close in East Meadow, N.Y.

Women's 1500 freestyle
Alyssa Anderson concluded a dominant run at the meet with a distance free title in the metric mile (16:34.72). Kirsten Groome wound up second in 16:36.70, while Monica Drake placed third in 16:39.83.

Women's 200 IM
Michelle McKeehan nabbed first in 2:15.50, while Teresa Crippen took second in 2:16.95 and Kathleen Hersey finished third in 2:17.12.

Men's 200 IM
Vanni Mangoni touched first in 2:03.54, while Robert Margalis (2:03.65) and Tim Liebhold (2:03.80) finished second and third, respectively.

Women's 50 freestyle
Samantha Woodward won the women's splash-and-dash with a time of 25.79. Allison Wagner placed second in 25.94, while Maritza Correia placed third in 26.08.

Men's 50 freestyle
Nick Brunelli captured the title in 22.45, while Brett Allen (22.79) and Cole Tedhams (22.90) rounded out the podium in the 50 free.

Men's 800 freestyle
Robert Margalis hit the wall first in the middle distance event with a time of 8:02.13. Chad La Tourette placed second in 8:03.38, while Troyden Prinsloo finished third in 8:04.67.

Women's 400 medley relay
North Baltimore Aquatic Club's team of Elizabeth Pelton (1:03.58), Andrea Staub (1:15.21), Felicia Lee (59.61) and Laura Harris (59.24) won in 4:17.64.

LSU's foursome of Kevin Braud (58.99), Julius Gloeckner (1:07.37), Christoph Lubenau (53.78) and Miko Malberg (50.93) touched first in 3:51.07.
