China Goes 1-3 in Men’s Tower Prelims at Worlds

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 24. CHINA notched the first and third-best performances in men's tower preliminary competition at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Zhou Luxin tallied 537.60 points for the top spot, including three dives counting for more than 90 points. He saved his best for last with 96.90 points coming from a reverse 3.5 somersault from the tuck position).

Teammate Lin Yue finished third with 461.90 points, including 97.20 points from his fourth-round dive (an armstand backward two somersaults with 2.5 twists from the free position).

Russia's Gleb Galperin split the difference with a second-place total of 502.05 points. His best dive came in the final round as he matched Zhou with 96.90 points awarded to his backward 2.5 somersaults with 2.5 twists from the pike position.

Thomas Finchum provided the U.S. with its top finish in the event with 382.00 points for 19th.
