France’s Virginie Dedieu Claims Solo Free Routine Synchro Gold at Worlds

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 22. FRANCE's Virginie Dedieu broke up the Russian gold-medal party in synchronized swimming at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Dedieu tallied 99.500 points with an incredible 50 out of 50 points for artistic impression as well as 49.500 from technical merit to capture the gold for France.

Russia's Natalia Ischenko finished a point behind with 98.500 points for silver (49.000 technical merit, 49.500 artistic impression), while Spain's Gemma Mengual Civil took bronze with 98.000 points (48.833 technical merit, 49.167 artistic impression).

The top American effort came by way of fifth-place finisher Christina Jones (95.666 points).
