Michigan’s Alex Vanderkaay Claims 400 IM Title

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, March 16. MICHIGAN's Alex Vanderkaay held off a hard-charging Lucas Salatta of Florida for the 400 IM title, 3:40.89 to 3:41.08. The win gave Michigan its seventh 400 IM title in NCAA, the second-most behind Southern California's 12.

Virginia's Pat Mellors grabbed third place with a time of 3:42.03.

Auburn remained in first with 227 points, while Florida moved to second with 151 points. Stanford (134), Texas (127) and Arizona (122) comprised the rest off the top five.
