Swimming World Radio Talks With American Record Holder Robert Margalis

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 5. A new American Record in the 1000 yard freestyle was established by St. Petersburg Aquatic Club's Robert Margalis last week with a time of 8:42.64 bettering the 2001 record of 8:44.11 set by Chris Thompson.

Training more than 20,000 meters per day, Robert Margalis' work ethic has established him as a top American swimmer who will be representing the United States at the Pan American Games later this year.
