Stanford Claims Men’s and Women’s CSCAA Dual-Meet Championships

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 26. THE dual meet champions have been determined in Division I swimming and diving and the Stanford Cardinal have a lot to celebrate. When it matters most, the final poll, both the men's and women's teams residing in Palo Alto, Calif., are on top. The women continued their unanimous reign at the top while the men earned their ranking by the narrowest of possible margins, 266 – 265 over the previously top-ranked Texas Longhorns.

The 2006-07 dual meet season officially ended on Feb. 10 when the men's teams from Stanford University and the University of California-Berkeley met in Berkeley, Calif. That meet ended in a 169-131 victory for the Cardinal that vaulted them to the dual meet crown.

There was no other dual meet action in men's or women's swimming and diving since the Feb. 13 release.

This year's poll has been published nine times. Pollsters representing eight conferences along with two at-large voters have had the task of ranking the top dual meet teams in the nation bi-weekly throughout the season. Additionally, the group of pollsters is completely different for the men's and women's rankings. This poll should not be confused with the results of the NCAA Division I Championships that will take place in March.
