Williams College Earns Fifth-Consecutive NESCAC Title

BRUNSWICK, Maine, February 26. THE Williams College men's swimming and diving team eclipsed 2,000 points for the second consecutive year and won their fifth-straight New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday at Bowdoin College. The Ephs, who dominated all weekend, finished with 2019.5 points, ahead of second-place Amherst (1,308) and Tufts (1,306).

Williams earned four more individual crowns in Sunday's action, as Steve Spinelli captured his third title of the weekend with a victory in the 1,650-Yard Freestyle event. Multiple winners Rob Hannigan (100-Yard Freestyle) and Tyler Bonewell (200-Yard Breaststroke) both captured events for the Ephs, who also got a victory in the 200-Yard Backstroke from Dave McManic. Williams also captured the lone relay event of the evening, the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay.

Middlebury was responsible for the other two individual winners in the final day of action. Rob Collier earned his third crown of the weekend by capturing the 200-Yard Butterfly in a NESCAC-record time of 1:50.39. In addition, Brooks Farrar completed his sweep of the diving events by earning a victory in the three-meter competition.
