Akron Tops MAC Foe Bowling Green, 178-121

AKRON, Ohio, January 14. AFTER a month away from the water, Bowling Green returned to the pool only to fall to Akron, 178-121, Saturday. Four individual Falcons found themselves atop the leader board in five races while the 400 freestyle team garnished top honors.

Sophomore Alisha Yee continued to dominate the MAC with two top times in the 200 back and 200 IM events. Today's win marks the third time Yee has won the 200 IM in three of the four MAC races this season; her lowest finish was second against Ohio University.

Senior Caroline Keating remains unbeaten in MAC competition after picking up her fourth MAC win in the 1000 free. In the 100 free event, rookie Meg Richardson walked-away with the win while junior Kimberly Albin won the 200 breast.

Keating and Richardson were joined by junior Jennifer Wright and rookie Frankie Houck to best each of Akron's three relay participants to win the 400 free relay in 3:36.55.

Additionally, the Falcons picked up seven second place times and five third place finishers.

Bowling Green will face Buffalo at home on January 20 and Miami in Oxford six days later to close the MAC season. The Buffalo meet will begin at 1:00 p.m. while the Miami meet will be a 5:00 p.m. start.
