San Diego Overtakes Boise State, 154-68

SAN DIEGO, California, January 6. THE University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team posted a huge 154-68 victory Friday afternoon against the Boise State University Broncos at the USD Swim Complex. Air Force was unable to attend the three-way dual meet changing the competition to a head-to-head meet between the Toreros and the Broncos.

The Toreros got off to a strong lead as the 200 Medley Relay C squad captured first place (Kelly Griffith, Brittany Cramer, Alyssa Martinez, Leslie Culver) swam a 2:05.78. Erin Voyles followed with a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:54.85.

San Diego took first place in nine of the 13 events, and captured second place in 11 of the races.

Other standout performances include Joy Miller's first place finish in the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:00.38, Kristina Levesque's 56.04 first place finish in the 100 freestyle, Kristen Yoon's 1:02.71 first place finish in the 100 backstroke, and Meghan Peter's 200 Individual Medley first place finish in a time of 2:13.34.

USD returns to the water on Sunday, January 7 when they will head north to UC Irvine for a Relay Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
