America East Names Performers of the Week

BOSTON, Massachusetts, December 5. UMBC's Evan Rosberry (Sinking Springs, Pa./Wilson) and University of Vermont's Molly MacMillan (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) have been named America East Men's and Women's Swimming Performers of the Week, respectively, while UMBC's Jeff Salgado (Glen Rock, Pa./South Western) and Ashley Houghton (Frederick, Md./Urbana) earn Men's and Women's America East Diving performers of the week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday.

Roseberry won three events and broke a pool record in UMBC's 137-75 victory at Bucknell on December 3. The sophomore took first in the 500-free (4:40.08), the 1,000-free (9:31.66), and the 200-fly (1:54.99). His time in the 1,000-free broke the Kinney Natatorium record is also UMBC's fastest of the season. He has won ten events on the season.

MacMillan led the Catamounts with three wins over the weekend, including two new meet records and one UVM mark, at the Harold Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Rhode Island. She set a new meet and varsity record by winning the 100-backstroke in a time of 59.03. MacMillan broke the meet record in the 500-free by winning in 5:12.02 and she also took the top spot in the 200-backstroke in 2:07.93. She was also part of the 400-freestyle relay team that won and broke the meet and UVM varsity record with a time of 3:38.34. MacMillan has broken two UVM freshmen records and two varsity records already this season, and has been a part of the 200-free relay team that set a new Catamount varsity record.

Salgado swept the diving events in UMBC's victory. The senior scored 280.65 on the one-meter board and 246.75 in the three-meter competition. Salgado has won both diving events at four meets this season and has nine victories on the year. This is his fourth performer of the week honor.

Houghton swept the diving events in UMBC's 129-106 victory at Bucknell. The senior scored 267.23 on the one-meter board and 252.00 in the three-meter competition. Houghton has won both diving events at six of seven dual meets this season and has 13 victories on the year. This is her third performer of the week honor.
