Washington Kicks Off Husky Invite

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, December 1. WASHINGTON swimming kicked off the first day of the four-day Husky Invitational on Thursday with a strong showing at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash.

For the women it was senior Blythe Murray with the fastest swim for the Huskies, finishing in 14th place with a time of 10:28.68. Kim Kripps took 16th in the event (10:30.09), followed by Liz Johnson in 20th (10:32.87) and Rebecca Rogers in 27th (10:41.42).

UW recruit Ashley Daly also performed well for the Issaquah Swim Team, placing 12th in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:27.71.

Hunter Barrett was Washington's top male performer in the 1000 free, placing 16th with a time of 9:47.10.
