LSU Tigers Lead After Day Two

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Novebmer 19. THE LSU men lead the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M heading into Day three of competition. The Tigers are ahead of the second-place SMU 733-682. Texas A&M is in third place with 680 points.

Junior Kevin Braud and sophomore Julius Gloeckner recorded championship final wins, and the LSU men's swimming and diving team maintained its first-place lead heading into the final day of competition at the Art Adamson Invitational.

On the women's side, LSU is in fourth place with 283 points, trailing Texas A&M (907.5), Michigan (723) and SMU (443).

Braud won the 100 backstroke championship final in a time of 48.87 after posting a clocking of 50.02 in the prelims. Gloeckner led a 1-2 LSU finish in the 200 freestyle with an NCAA provisional time of 1:37.30 in the championship final, while freshman Will Rivers was second in a mark of 1:39.95.

Gloeckner was also second in the 400 individual medley championship heat with another NCAA "B" cut (3:51.93).

Freshman Sean LeNeave took top honors in the consolation final (1:42.03) and was ninth overall in the 200 free.

Sophomore Christoph Lubenau and junior Miko Malberg finished second and third in the 100 butterfly championship final, respectively with times of 48.81 and 49.36.

The Tigers' 200 medley relay and 800 free relay teams finished with second-place times of 1:30.78 and 6:38.90, respectively.

In diving, senior Hali Saucier won an event for the second straight day. Saucier, who won the 1-meter on Friday, edged Michigan's Elise Lee, 314.75-312.60 in the 3-meter on Saturday.

Senior Andrew Keane and sophomore Nathan Schreiber led a 2-3 LSU finish in the men's 3-meter portion. Keane scored a mark of 330.50, while Schreiber tallied a score of 306 points.
