Stratton, Szatkowski Named Dartmouth Assistant Swim Coaches

HANOVER, New Hampshire, October 9. RACHEL Stratton and Jesup Szatkowski have been named assistant coaches for the Dartmouth men's and women's swim teams.

Since 2004, Stratton has been the head coach of Team Santa Monica (Calif.), a program numbering more than 130 swimmers. She was the assistant coach from 2002-04.

From 2001-03, Stratton was head coach of Brentwood (Calif.) School and director of Brentwood's summer swim camp.

Since 2005, she has chaired the Pacific Section, a subcommittee of Southern California Swimming. In that role, Stratton was responsible for planning and running all section meetings and creating the meet schedule for all competitions.

A graduate of UCLA, she was chair from 2000-02 of the Bruin Athletic Council, a student run organization that serves as liaison between all student athletes and the athletic department. From 1997-2000, she was coach of the West Valley Swim Club (Saratoga, Calif.). She is Level 4 certified by the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA).

Szatkowski comes to Dartmouth from Vassar College where he filled a variety of roles including assistant coach of men's and women's swimming and diving, head coach/founder of the men's and women's club water polo teams and aquatics director.

A 2000 graduate of Washington & Lee where he was an All-Conference swimmer, Szatkowski earned a master's degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2003. He was an assistant coach for the Wildcats from 2002-03.

Szatkowski has worked numerous swim camps, including those at the University of Georgia and Dartmouth, and has also coached at Rye Beach (N.H.) Club, Rockbridge County (Lexington, Va.) High School and Rockbridge (Lexington, Va.) Area Team Swimming.

Szatkowski is Level 2 certified by ASCA.
