Brooks Takes Over at YMCA of York

YORK, Pennsylvania, September 28. MICHAEL Brooks, formerly an assistant coach with the Brophy East Swim Team in Phoenix, Ariz., has been hired as the head coach of the YMCA of York. He will also take the reins of the York YMCA Aquatic Club on Oct. 9.

Prior to his time at BEST, Brooks coached at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. During that period at NBAC, he served as the head coach of the club’s satellite program in York. Previously, Brooks worked with the Tar Heel Aqua Racers in Raleigh, N.C., and Rams Aquatics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 2003, Brooks earned Maryland Age Group Coach of the Year laurels, and claimed a pair of Utah State High School Coach of the Year accolades.

Brooks graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Carleton College and the University of Utah before earning a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
