Lowe, Pate and Loughran Set British Age Group Records

PONDS FORGE, Sheffield, England, Aug. 4. JEMMA Lowe, Louise Pate and Marco Loughran set British age group records at the ASA National Youth and ASA Championships at the Ponds Forge International Sports Center on Friday.

2005 European Junior Championship 100-meter butterfly silver medalist Lowe led the way, showing sparkling form on the way to winning the women's 100-meter open butterfly final.

Pate, 17, who, despite also setting a British age group record, had to settle for second place on the podium. Swimming for the Heart of Midlothian club, Pate touched home in 1.00.70, just .17 seconds behind arch-rival Lowe
