Braden to be Inducted into University of Washington Hall of Fame

TACOMA, Washington, May 24. JODY Braden, a four-time All-American who once held six records at the University of Washington, will be inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame on October 27 during a ceremony at Bank of America Arena. The following day, he’ll be introduced during halftime of Washington’s football game with Arizona State.

As a senior in 1991, Braden claimed the Pac-10 Conference championship in the 400 individual medley. The four-year letterwinner was Washington’s Male Swimmer of the Year from 1989-91 and the Pacific Northwest Swimmer of the Year in 1991. An All-American in the 400 I.M. as a junior, he was an All-American in the 200 I.M., 400 I.M. and 200 butterfly as a senior.

Braden was a member of the United States National Team in 1991 and 1992 and collected a silver medal in the 400 I.M. at the 1991 Pan-American Games. He is currently the head coach of the Portland Athletic Club swim team.
